Zool
Zool, released in 1993 by Gremlin Graphics, is a lightning-fast platformer starring a ninja from the Nth Dimension on a mission to prove his worth. With vibrant graphics, high-energy gameplay, and a surreal, candy-coated world, Zool was designed to rival the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog—and it brings the speed and chaos to match.Players guide Zool through a series of colorful, hyperactive levels filled with bouncing enemies, tricky jumps, and collectible goodies like lollipops and fruit. Armed with projectiles and ninja moves, Zool must battle his way through themed worlds—ranging from music and toys to sweets and tools—all while racing against the clock and searching for secrets.
Praised for its smooth controls, catchy soundtrack, and eye-popping visuals, Zool quickly became a cult favorite on the PC and other platforms. It’s a prime example of early ’90s mascot platformers—wild, fast, and full of attitude.
