Classic MS-DOS Fighting Games

Fighting games were primarily a console genre during the MS-DOS era, but the PC received many notable ports and a handful of excellent exclusives. Mortal Kombat brought its notorious gore and fatalities to PC monitors, Street Fighter II arrived with its iconic cast of world warriors, and One Must Fall: 2097 became a beloved PC-exclusive fighting game that showcased what DOS hardware could do. The genre never reached the same heights on DOS as it did in arcades or on the SNES and Genesis, but the best titles were genuinely great one-on-one combat experiences.
