MS-DOS Games by Activision

Activision was founded in California in 1979 by four Atari programmers who wanted credit for the games they wrote — the first third-party developer, and the reason developers are named on boxes at all. By the MS-DOS era it had absorbed Infocom and was publishing across genres, with MechWarrior 2 and Return to Zork among its better-known releases. Its founding argument about authorship reshaped the industry's economics permanently.
