MS-DOS Games by Apogee Software

Apogee Software (later 3D Realms) pioneered the shareware distribution model for PC games in the late 1980s and early 1990s. They published Commander Keen, Blake Stone, Duke Nukem, Wolfenstein 3D (with id Software), and Rise of the Triad. Their strategy of releasing the first episode for free and selling the rest helped establish PC gaming as a mainstream hobby.
