Classic MS-DOS Games from 1984

1984 was among the earliest years for MS-DOS gaming. Personal computers were still expensive novelties, and the games of the era reflected both the limitations and the ambition of pioneer developers. Sierra On-Line's King's Quest introduced the graphic adventure to a wide audience, while Jordan Mechner's Karateka brought fluid rotoscoped animation to the PC. Despite primitive CGA graphics and PC speaker bleeps, the games of 1984 laid the conceptual groundwork for the genres that followed.
