Classic MS-DOS Games from 1992

1992 may be the single most significant year in MS-DOS gaming history. id Software's Wolfenstein 3D launched the first-person shooter genre, setting the stage for everything from Doom to Half-Life. Alone in the Dark by Infogrames pioneered survival horror with fixed camera angles and genuine dread. Westwood Studios' Dune II invented the real-time strategy genre. LucasArts published Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis — widely considered one of the greatest adventure games ever made. Few years in any medium have produced such a density of genre-defining work.
