Gremlin was founded in Sheffield in 1984 as Gremlin Graphics by Ian Stewart and Kevin Norburn, taking the name Gremlin Interactive in the mid-1990s. Its catalogue ran from the platformer Zool and the Lotus racing series to the long-lived Premier Manager football management games and the strategy title Realms. It was among the most prolific British developers of the period, and published other studios' work alongside its own.
